On this street is the Convento de Santo Tomas de Villanueva built in the eighteenth century, whose nuns are popularly known as the Tomasas, and leans against one of the towers of the Alcazaba Cadima, in this alcazaba (castle) was opened the door of the Flags, which remains are still preserved in the convent. Also on Carmen de Aben Humeya, of centuries XI, XV and XVI, are attached to towers of the ancient walls of the Alcazaba Cadima.
